Kylie Jenner has given fans a rare look inside the sprawling “dream house” she has been building for nearly six years, taking viewers through the Hidden Hills, California, property and revealing details of the Italian-inspired home she hopes to move into soon. The 29-year-old The Kardashians star purchased the five-acre property in April 2020 for $15 million, the same month she bought a $36.5 million compound in Holmby Hills, California. While Jenner initially did not intend to document the construction process, she acknowledged that details of the project had already made their way online.“I’m going to go to my construction site. I have to do some approvals and you’re coming with me. Let’s go,” Jenner said at the beginning of her latest vlog.

Jenner began the tour by showing off the landscaping surrounding the property. The plans include lavender bushes, “old, ancient” olive trees around the entrance and a rose garden.Explaining the inspiration behind the landscaping, she revealed that her landscaper is Jim Hyatt, who worked on Sanjo Ranch, and said they had taken inspiration from his previous work.Jenner was particularly excited about the reclaimed cobblestone driveway, calling it “unreal” as she walked through the construction site. She later described the house itself as her “beautiful dream Italian home.”

Inside the property, Jenner showed fans glimpses of the reclaimed wood flooring, which had already been installed but was covered during the ongoing construction. She also had to approve the plaster colour for the home’s main areas. Jenner initially wanted white plaster throughout but rejected one option because she felt it was too grey before settling on another shade. One of the home’s fireplaces is made from an old reclaimed piece that Jenner found for the entryway. The fireplace was still in pieces during her tour, alongside old brick that will form part of the design. The kitchen was another major focus of the vlog. Jenner showed off the cabinetry that had arrived for the space, although she noted that the wood was not yet the colour she wanted and would be stained. The kitchen and living-room fireplace will also feature exposed brick, an idea proposed by designers Waldo and Tommy Clemens. Jenner approved the concept during the tour.

Mansion will feature gym, spa and luxury guest bathrooms

Jenner’s tour also took viewers downstairs to the basement, where she showed the space that will include a gym and a seating area. She visited one of the main guest rooms, where she was still deciding on the plaster colour, and showed off a guest bathroom featuring what she described as “stunning stone.”Traditional details have been incorporated into the bathrooms, with Jenner saying she particularly liked the stonework.Another guest bathroom will feature vintage tiles that her designers found for one of the showers. Jenner said it was currently the only bathroom with a distinct tile-focused design and admitted she was “in love with it.”

She explained that her sister Kendall had been carrying out construction at one of her homes and needed to find a new home for some young olive trees.Jenner took them for her own property, saying the trees remind her of her sister whenever she looks at them.

After touring the construction site and completing her approvals, Jenner said she was excited to finally see the project nearing completion.“That is it for all the approvals today and all the newness. And to move in,” she said. The latest glimpse follows previous social media posts in which Jenner has shown fans parts of the property, including what she described as a “yummy laundry room” and a massive walk-in closet.

Kylie Jenner reflects on her past real estate choices

The Hidden Hills project is just one part of Jenner’s extensive real estate portfolio. She also owns property in Palm Springs, California, and previously purchased a $13.5 million mansion in 2018.Reflecting on that earlier purchase in an interview with Who What Wear last month, Jenner admitted that she had gone overboard with her real estate choices when she was younger.“When I was younger, I got really excited, and I got the craziest house I could in Beverly Hills, and I just kind of went for it,” she said.“I’ve realized that my life got too big, and I said, ‘Yeah, never mind,'” she added.Jenner also acknowledged that she felt she had lost some control of her life during that period.“I think I lost control of my life a little bit for a while there,” she said. For now, Jenner appears focused on completing the Hidden Hills property, a six-year project that combines Italian-inspired architecture, reclaimed materials, extensive landscaping and a host of spaces designed for both family life and entertaining.
