Asked about the possibility of entering politics himself, Soori pointed to the support he has received from audiences throughout his career. As reported by News 18, he said people can give anyone the opportunity to reach a new position if they earn their trust. “People are the ones who have brought me from being a comedian to where I am today as a lead actor. If people accept someone, they can enter any field,” Soori said. He added, “People have accepted me, and I want to continue choosing good stories and give them films that they want to watch.” Speaking about Vijay’s political journey, Soori said the actor’s absence from cinema is a disappointment for the film industry. He also noted that political discussions are now reaching younger audiences.

Soori observed that children and youngsters have started following political developments more closely than before. “Today, even young people and small children have started watching Assembly proceedings and taking an interest in politics,” he said. According to the actor, even a 10-year-old child may be able to identify the names of public representatives. Soori described this as a healthy change and said greater political awareness among people is a positive development. However, he made it clear that Vijay’s decision to leave films has left a sense of disappointment in the Tamil film industry. Soori’s comments come as Vijay prepares to focus fully on his political journey after completing his final film commitments.
Soori’s ‘Mandaadi’ and next film with Ravikumar
Meanwhile, Soori is currently awaiting the release of ‘Mandaadi,’ directed by Madhimaaran Pugazhenthi. The film revolves around the lives of fishermen and the traditional sailboat races held in coastal Tamil Nadu. Soori said playing a fisherman gave him a new understanding of their struggles and way of life. The film stars Mahima Nambiar as the female lead, with GV Prakash Kumar composing the music.‘Mandaadi’ is scheduled to hit theatres on September 10. After this film, Soori will join director Ravikumar, known for ‘Indru Netru Naalai’ and ‘Ayalaan.’ The actor confirmed that shooting for the yet-to-be-titled project will begin towards the end of September, marking another new phase in his steadily growing career.
