Vijay Deverakonda recently went to the theatre to watch his little brother Anand Deverakonda’s latest film, ‘Epic - First Semester’. The romance drama is directed by Aditya Haasan and also stars Vaishnavi Chaitanya. He praised the movie and said that the story talks about the confusion, responsibilities, dreams and fears faced by young adults.
After watching the film, Vijay shared his reaction on Instagram Stories. The ‘Ranabaali’ star wrote, “Epicccc. What a beautiful movie. Aditya Haasan writes about the confusion, responsibilities, dreams and fears of every young adult. The bits with the family and the father and sons phone call just made me cry. So real. Such a beautiful POV.”

Rashmika Mandanna also watched the film with Vijay and later reposted his Instagram Story. She said that the movie was fun to watch and touched several relatable topics.Rashmika praised the realistic relationship between a man and a woman and the way the film shows middle-class families. She also mentioned the story about parents sending their children abroad for studies, family sacrifices, love, career confusion and uncertainty about the future.

She congratulated Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya and said, “It was such a good watch you guys! And Anand and Vaishu all hearts to you guys! Congratulations!!”
‘Epic - First Semester’ is helmed by Aditya Haasan, who is making his debut on the big screen. He previously directed the popular web series ‘90s – A Middle Class Biopic’.The series became a hit among viewers and focused on the life of a middle-class family. The latest release continues with a similar focus on young adults, relationships, family and their struggles.As per Sacnilk, the film added over Rs 1.30 crore on second day with total India gross collections to Rs 3.95 crore. The worldwide collection stands at Rs 5.60 crore.It was released in theatres on September 11, 2026.
