Director Sundar C is known for blending comedy, family emotions, and commercial entertainment, and his next move has created fresh interest among Tamil cinema fans. The filmmaker hinted at a new collaboration with actor Karthi, raising expectations for another fun-filled commercial entertainer. While the project is still in discussion, Sundar C’s latest comments confirmed that the combination is being seriously planned.

Sundar C confirms talks with Karthi for new entertaining film

Addressing a question about reports of an upcoming announcement involving Karthi and Santhanam, Sundar C confirmed that discussions are underway during the ‘Sardar 2’ audio launch. “If you’re asking this question, you must have heard something with the producer’s cooperation. We’re currently discussing a happy and entertaining film together,” the director said. His statement added weight to reports about his proposed collaboration with Karthi. Although the director has not revealed details about the cast, producer, or timeline, the description of the project as a “happy and entertaining film” has already sparked curiosity.

Karthi and Sundar C set to explore new commercial combination

The reported collaboration comes at an interesting stage in Karthi’s career, as the actor continues to take up films across different genres. A Sundar C-Karthi film could offer a different space for the actor, especially if the director stays close to his trademark commercial style. Sundar C has previously built films around comedy, action, family drama and larger-than-life entertainment. His latest statement also suggests that the upcoming project could focus on keeping the audience engaged with humour and entertainment rather than taking a serious or heavy approach.

Sundar C’s ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’ and ‘Purushan’ keep him busy

Meanwhile, Sundar C has several other projects in progress. He is currently associated with ‘Mookuthi Amman 2,’ which stars Nayanthara in the lead and continues the franchise that combines comedy with social and devotional elements. The filmmaker is also working on ‘Purushan,’ featuring Vishal and Tamannaah Bhatia. With these projects already keeping him occupied, the proposed Karthi collaboration is likely to take shape after further discussions. For now, Sundar C’s confirmation is enough to make his upcoming project with Karthi one of the most-awaited Tamil films, especially among fans curious to see what the filmmaker has planned.
